For thirty-five years, I had the incredible privilege of serving our community as a teacher and athletic coach across four of our local schools. Even though I have retired, my heart is still right here with our schools. That is exactly why I am running. I want to stay deeply connected to this district and help us accomplish the visions and goals we started years ago. My focus is straightforward: I want what is truly best for our students, our teachers, and our parents. Together, we can make sure our schools are supportive, successful places where everyone can thrive.
To help our schools in YCUSD perform at the highest level, we need a clear, long-term plan. I believe that starts with supporting the people who guide our children, which is why I will focus on hiring and retaining top-quality teachers, administrators, and support staff. We must also ensure a safe school environment for every student and put a real plan in place to maintain, improve, and grow our facilities. Our curriculum has to prepare all students for success, whether their next step is college, trade school, the military, or going straight into the workforce. Finally, I want to help students build strong connections to their schools through clubs, sports, and activities, while making sure they can easily access vital district resources.
